Mancherial collector Bharati Hollikeri has issued notices to two private hospitals in Mancherial town in view of the dengue deaths in a single-family

Hyderabad: Mancherial collector Bharati Hollikeri has issued notices to two private hospitals in Mancherial town in view of the dengue deaths in a single-family.

The reason being the failure of these two private hospitals in informing the district administration about the dengue positive cases of G Raja Gattu, the private teacher, and his six-year-old daughter Sri Varshini.

According to district health officials, the Health department could have monitored and guided their health condition and treatment had the two private hospitals informed Raja Gattu's and Varshini's health condition on time.

Officials also stated family members consulted private hospitals in the town and the situation could have been different had they visited government hospitals where the dengue diagnosis and treatment is better.

Meanwhile, platelet count of the newborn kid born to Soni, the mother, who was the fourth to succumb because of dengue a few days ago, has fallen slightly (42,000 on Saturday) and the kid is being treated in a Mahalaxmi Children's Hospital in the town.

However, the dengue test done on the kid had come negative. District collector had told the concerned hospital to ensure the best of the treatment to the kid and ensure he recovers early.
