Hyderabad: The Pradesh Congress Committee has allocated work to the four working presidents of the State unit and given the charge of district Congress committees and the sister organisations.

PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy issued a letter in this regard.

Working president Revanth Reddy has been given the responsibility of 14 districts, working president J Kusuma Kumar has been given the charge of 12 districts and working president Ponnam Pabhakar has been given the responsibility of six districts.

Working president Azaharuddin has been assigned the responsibilities of sister organisations.

Revanth Reddy would take care of Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Karimnagar, Jagityal, Peddpalli, Siricilla, Nizamabad, Kama Reddy, Warangal Rural, Warangal Urban, Bhupalpalli and Janagaon districts.

Kusuma Kumar has been given the charge of Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Nalgonda, Khammam, Bhadradri, Mulugu, Narayanapet, Sangareddy, Medak and Siddpet districts.

Ponnam Prabhakar would take the responsibility of Rangareddy, Gadwal, Nagarkurnool, Vikarabad, Bhongir and Medchal districts.

Hyderabad district has been spared from this arrangement.

Azaharuddin would oversee the work of Sevadal, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, SC, ST, Minorities, OBC departments, Doctors, Legal and Human Rights, IT, Linguistic Minority, NRI, Intellectual, Weavers cells, Kisan Congress, and unorganised sectors wing.

The PCC has also appointed several state level functionaries, secretaries and general secretaries of the PCC as incharges of the districts. They would coordinate with the district Congress committee presidents. PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy would coordinate with all the state leaders.

Sources in the party said that the working presidents have been given responsibilities as the party's support base at the districts level is eroding. With no control on the district units, the second rung leaders and cadre have been slipping away.

The party was unable to carry out any programmes as planned at the state-level. Lack of coordination has been damaging the party organisationally.

With this the PCC has decided to give the responsibilities of strengthening the organisation to top leaders. Though it has been decided to give organisational responsibilities to working presidents, the decision was announced on Sunday.

The incharges of the districts would oversee the local body elections. They would coordinate with the incharges and DCC presidents and would see that the party stays united at the base level.

However, this arrangement would be in place till the announcement of the results to the Parliament elections, on May 23. The PCC may be revamped after the announcement of the results.

The All India Congress Committee may revamp the PCC and may appoint all together a new committee along with the president. The new PCC president and the committees may come up with fresh coordination plans.
