Telangana Photojournalist Association (TPJA) elected new bodies for Warangal, Jangaon and Mahabubabad districts unanimously at a meeting here on Friday.

Warangal: Telangana Photojournalist Association (TPJA) elected new bodies for Warangal, Jangaon and Mahabubabad districts unanimously at a meeting here on Friday.

TPJA State president G Bhaskar said that issues faced by the photojournalists will be taken to the notice of the State leaders. He said that photojournalists who were injured and lost their cameras during statehood movement will be compensated with the help of State government.

TUWJ State vice-president BR Lenin said that photojournalists play a key role and in fact they are the first ones to report any incident. Senior journalist Noora Srinivas said that a photo is worth more than 1,000 words.

He emphasised the need for archiving and chronicling the events in photographs. Mendu Ravinder, K Mahender, Subhash, Venkat, Upender Goud and Yadagiri were among others present. The outgoing president of the TPJA G Shyam Kumar presided over the meeting.

Dasari Srinivasulu (Andhra Jyothy) has been elected as the president of Warangal Urban and Rural districts (combinedly). Vice-president Chakinala Shyam (Namasthe Telangana), Secretary Gotte Venkanna (Namasthe Telangana), Joint secretary Veeragoni Haressh Goud (Andhra Jyothy), Treasurer Kuduthala Ramesh (Mana Telangana), executive members – Sampeta Venkateshwarlu (Sakshi), Belide Srinivas (Prajatantra), Mashook (Ittihad) and Manda Kishore (Andhra Prabha).
