Wanaparthy: A team of officials from Civil Supplies department and Madanapur police seized 35 quintals of PDS rice from the possession of a person in Madanapur mandal headquarter on Thursday.

On a tip-off, the officials of Civil Supplies department along with Madanapur police raided the house of a person named Ramesh and seized 35 quintals of PDS rice illegally stocked in his house.

"We received information that a few persons in Madanapur mandal were transporting the illegally stocked PDS rice and conducted raids and seized 35 quintals of rice and registered a case against the culprit for misusing the PDS rice," said Madanapur police.
