Police solve Amberpet chain snatching case; three arrested

The East Zone Police on Sunday cracked the chain snatching case under Amberpet police station limits within 24 hours and arrested three notorious chain snatchers and recovered Rs 1.2 lakh worth four tolas gold chain, two bikes from the possession of the accused.

According to City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, complainant B Anasuya (55, housemaker), a resident of DD Colony in Amberpet around 9:40 am on Saturday was on her way home from Vijaya Ganapathi temple at TRT Colony along with her sister-in-law Vatchaya (51).
When they reached Sai Baba Temple, two accused came on a two-wheeler without number plate and the bike rider snatched her gold chain and sped away.
The victim filed a complaint with the Amberpet police. The police registered a case under section 392 IPC and took up investigation. The crime team collected CCTV footages and identified culprits.
The accused were identified as Harsha Joshi (19, intermediate discontinued), P Manoj Kumar (18, Swiggy delivery boy) and Thakur Ashwin Singh (22, AC technician).
