Police warn drug peddlers of strict action in Mahbubnagar
The Mahbubnagar police have decided to crack a whip on the unscrupulous elements that are resorting to smuggling drugs and narcotic substances and supplying them to the youth in the district.

Recently, the rural police in the district received a tip-off that a few youngsters who have formed gangs are roaming in the streets and colonies in the nights and resorting to anti-social activities in the district.
"We have identified few persons who have are involved in anti-social activities in the rural police station limits. Some youth are found to have been using opium. Our teams have already caught a few of them red-handed and taken up investigation. Based on their revelation we are planning to arrest few more and book cases against them," said Mahbubnagar SP Rema Rajeshwari.
The SP expressed her concern that youth who are being addicted to narcotic and habit forming drugs are resorting to theft and indulging in other anti-social activities.
She said they have identified some sources that are supplying narcotics to Mahbubnagar from Raichur in Karnataka and to some areas in Nallamalla region are also identified to be hubs of supply and smuggling of dangerous drugs.
"Youth under pressure are getting addicted to drugs and there onwards they tend to behave violently and even some times tend to commit suicides and murders. The parents must keep a watch. The public must also be alert and must inform the police of any such suspicious activities," said the SP.
To contain further smuggling into the district the police department has initiated a special focus and dedicated teams have been put into force. The police were shocked to know that person who was arrested recently even tend to commit suicide as he was not getting the narcotic.
On further inquiry, the entire drug smuggling mafia's details were revealed to the police.
The police have also identified that the narcotic drugs are supplied at some dedicated points in the district and the entire drug supplying is being done underneath. However all this was revealed out with the arrest of a youth recently.
"We have identified that the narcotic drugs are being supplied from Prakasham, Guntur, Nalgonda, Kurnool areas from Andhra Pradesh and a few are also being identified to be supplied from Raichur in Karnataka," said the SP.
In view of the above, the Mahbubnagar police have put a strict vigil and checking each and every vehicle, and transportation systems like buses and train to contain the smuggling of the drugs to the district.
The police warned that they would not hesitate to initiate strictest of the strict action against the violators of narcotic drug abuse.
