Provide all amenities, fuel/gas outlets told
Hans News Service Keesara: Awareness session on providing basic amenities at petrol pumps and gas agencies was held here at Padidisheela function hall on Thursday. Telangana Minister for Labour Ch Mallareddy and Medchal District Collector MV Reddy spoke on the occasion. Addressing petrol pump and gas agency owners, the minister instructed them to provide toilet, drinking water and other basic facilities at their pumps. He ordered them to ensure that staff members wear uniforms. He also advised them to open food shops and sell food items such as coffee, cooldrinks and other food items at their pumps. The minister instructed pump owners to provide facilities within one month and district officials would inspect pumps from November 25. Three best pumps would be rewarded, he said. He advised oil company dealers to conduct regular inspections of petrol pumps. Malla Reddy informed that the district stood first in the state in implementing Haritha Haram program and also ahead in providing 24-hour electricity and drinking water through Mission Bhagiratha. District collector MV Reddy, speaking at the session, said that 30-day program taken in the rural areas has been successful and the government is planning to conduct similar programme in urban areas. He said the awareness meeting was organised to improve sanitation and cleanliness in municipalities. Praising the key role played by the petrol pumps and gas agencies in people's lives, he urged pump owners to provide basic facilities to people so as to improve cleanliness in their areas. Joint Collector K Vidyasagar, gas dealers association president Narotham Reddy, oil industries DGM Naik, DSO Ramesh, district officials, municipal commissioners, dealers of petrol and gas companies and their representatives attended the meeting.
