Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya conducted a review meeting on improvement of safety and punctuality at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Monday with Principal Heads of Departments.

The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.

Gajanan Mallya advised all the Divisional Railway Managers to strictly observe all precautions to tackle the heat wave conditions in safe running of trains and also to maintain adequate drinking water at stations and trains for the convenience of passengers. The General Manager also told the DRMs to alert the Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) which may come forward to provide additional services like supply of buttermilk, Lemon Water etc., helping the passengers to overcome the problems of heat wave during their journeys.

The General Manager stressed on prevention of short circuits at railway premises emphasizing on quality wiring to avoid all kinds of unusual incidents related to electricity. He advised Zonal officers and the DRMs of all the Divisions to maintain punctuality of Special Trains and Diverted Trains. He reviewed the ongoing projects on the Zone and instructed the DRMs to maintain punctuality with strict adherence to the schedules of developmental and maintenance works.

Additional General Manager John Thomas and other senior officials were also present in the review meeting.
