Scrapping of Article 370 a tribute to Ambedkar, says Kishan Reddy
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy said that scrapping of Article 370 was a tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre.
Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy said that scrapping of Article 370 was a tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government at the Centre.
Addressing on the occasion of Sant Ravi Das Jayanthi celebrations held at the party State headquarters here on Sunday, he said, "the Indian constitution has been in implementation for the last 70 years across the country. But, it was Nehru-Jinnah understanding which had been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, under the guise of Article 370."
He said that the ill-health did not prevent Ambedkar in his efforts to give the best possible constitution to the country. However, Article 370 let down his dream for the constitutional governance of the entire country.
It was against that backdrop emulating the spirit of Sant Ravi Das and Ambedkar, Modi's government scrapped the Article 370. This has brought the country under 'one nation and one constitution,' extending benefits of reservations to different sections of people in J&K, he added.
Taking a dig at the TRS and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Kishan Reddy asked the TRS supremo to spell out the reasons for opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act.
The atrocities perpetrated against the minority Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists etc in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afganistan had forced them to flee those countries to seek refuge in India. But, some political parties like TRS, Congress and Majlis are creating narrative mixing refugees and infiltrators and demanding citizenship for the infiltrators from Pakistan and Bangladesh.
He asked, "whether KCR, Rahul Gandhi, TRS or Congress would take responsibility to the consequences if citizenship is granted to the infiltrators?"
He further asked TRS chief whether he was talking on behalf of the Muslims or infiltrators from Pakistan and Bangladesh, under the diktats of Majlis, known for its politics of dividing people based on religion.
Kishan Reddy said the Center is ready to review the CAA, provided, even if a single word in it is detrimental to any of the India citizens. Otherwise, it will not take back CAA, he clarified.
State BJP chief Dr K Laxman advised KCR to read the life of Sant Ravi Das who worked for social reform to get some inspiration than claiming himself as Hindu, but, playing to the tune of Majlis.
