BJP senior leader and former Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao said the very discourse of importance of the Telangana Liberation Day (TLD) on September 17 was initiated by BJP way back in 1998.
Hyderabad: BJP senior leader and former Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao said the very discourse of importance of the Telangana Liberation Day (TLD) on September 17 was initiated by BJP way back in 1998.
It has become an inspiring discussion since then in Telangana, parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka which were under the erstwhile Nizam State. "The culture of discourse discussing the Telangana Liberation Day by various quarters, intellectuals, political and others can go on. That's how the discourse takes place. But, the fundamental fact remains that it was initiated by BJP in Telangana," he said.
It may be mentioned here that the BJP leader, who recently rejoined the party after the demitting office of the Governor was the first one to take the lead stressing on the importance and significance of celebrating the Telangana Liberation Day in United Andhra Pradesh. Rao said celebrating the Telangana Liberation Day had caught the imagination of the people. Since then it is celebrated across different villages and towns in Telangana.
