Students from Telugu States reach Delhi safely

Hyderabad: Concerted efforts by the Central and state governments resulted in helping 90 students of NIT-Srinagar to reach Delhi on Sunday. These students had reached Delhi by a special train.
They were received by the officials of the AP Bhavan. The officials also enquired about the problems faced following the decision of the NIT to suspend classes and ask them to vacate the hostels.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy said that there was no need for any panic as the Centre was taking all necessary measures to bring the students and those who had gone for Amarnath Yatra back safe.
Reddy who is coordinating in bringing the stranded students back spoke to the district administration of Jammu to extend assistance to the students who were stranded at the Jammu railway station since Saturday night. He also urged the airlines to bring the pilgrims back at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the Air India capped the air fare at Rs 6715 from Srinagar to Delhi till August 15 after the Ministry of Aviation told all airlines to curb the surging air ticket prices for pilgrims returning from Amarnath.
The students who vacated the hostels on Saturday told The Hans India that they were escorted from Srinagar to Jammu in four buses. One bus with about 25 to 30 girl students could reach the Jammu in time. They have boarded the train to Delhi on Saturday night.
But the remaining students travelling in three buses have reached Jammu around 10 pm and they had to spend the whole night at the station due to lack of trains to Delhi.
Jayanth, one among the students stranded at the Jammu railway station, said: "There are no proper facilities at the station.
We have asked the railway officials if they could make any arrangements for them to leave for Delhi."
Karimnagar Member of Parliament Bandi Sanjay said following the developments unfolding in J&K, the Union Minister had intervened.
A list of 107 students from both the Telugu states was received by the minister. The stranded students have boarded the train in the afternoon and reached Delhi around midnight on Sunday.
