Hyderabad: Telangana School Education Department on Friday said that the number of students scoring A1 and A2 grades in the SSC examinations has been showing an increase in the last four years.

An analysis by the education department shows that students' performance in the SSC examinations since 2015 indicates that students are scoring top grades in mathematics and social science streams.

The number of students who scored A1 grade in 2015 was 31,215 and the same has shown a three-fold increase in the SSC 2019 examinations with 94,118 students securing A1 grades.

Similarly, the number of students who scored A2 grade doubled followed by B1 also growing in the last four years.

Against this backdrop, the number of students securing B2 grades has been falling down in the mathematics subject.

Showing similar trends in the science stream, the number of students scoring A1 has shown a five-fold increase from 2015 to 2019 in the SSC examinations.

Similarly, the A2 grades showed a three-fold increase and the number of students securing B1 grade is also increased steadily making the number of students getting B2 grades going down.

The same is the case with the social sciences that the number of students securing A1 and A2 grades has recorded a three-fold and two-fold increase, respectively in the last four years.

The general trend across all the subjects is that there is an increase in the number of students securing A1, A2 and B1 grades growing from two to five-fold increases.

This shows the improved performance of the students at the SSC level in the State, the officials said.
