Hyderabad: Governor Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan said that the Tuberculosis (TB) is completely curable and it should be completely eradicated from our State.

The Governor was delivering the inaugural address at the 70th TD Seal Sale Campaign organised by the Tuberculosis Associations of Telangana at Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan on Friday.

Dr. Soundararajan was the Chief Guest of the day. She has inaugurated the TB Seal Sale Campaign and distributed the Awards to the winners. Dr.T.V.Venkateswarulu, Retd. Additional Director & Vice - Chairman, TB Association of Telangana has presided over the function and Dr. G.Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health & Family Welfare, Telangana, has graced the occasion. On this occasion, the Governor gave a cheque for a sum of Rs.15,000/- to the State TB Association for the noble cause of the Association.

The Governor said that the people in the rural areas are suffering from this dreaded diseases. Now, there are so many wonderful medicines introduced under the Revised National TB Control Programme and TB patients should take treatment continuously without any break, as suggested by the doctors. She advised the TB Associations to take steps and see that the TB cases are reduced. For the Research purpose, for the control of TB disease, the research is very costly and hence, the Corporate Sector may be contacted for their involvement and assistance to make Telangana100% TB free State well before 2025. She appreciated the TB Association of Telangana for doing yeoman services to eradicate T.B. (INN)
