Hyderabad: The TSRTC and APSRTC officials have decided to operate buses based on kilometers on parity basis after agreement between the two States.

The inter-State bus operations have been suspended in both the States in wake of Covid-19 outbreak. Primary round of discussions on operation of inter-State buses were held in Vijayawada on Thursday where the officials agreed to operate buses based on kilometers. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had directed the officials to enter into fresh agreement with the neighbouring States and on parity basis after it was brought to his notice about the differences in the number buses being operated between both the States.

While, the APSRTC officials have said that they would be operating 256 buses, the TSRTC have yet to take a decision on the number of buses to be operated.

The officials were unaware about the number of buses proposed to be operated once the inter-State buses are started. The officials have decided to follow all the Covid-19 protocols like maintaining physical distancing, sanitizing the buses etc.

While the APSRTC officials are entering agreements with neighbouring States like Karnataka, the Telangana officials are yet to take a call on it. Another round of meetings would be held in the next week between officials of both the Corporations.
