Union Minister responds positively to their requests

Hyderabad: Peoples representatives from Telangana have urged the Centre to take up several infrastructure development projects. They made these requests to Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari who laid the foundation stones to several national highway projects in Telangana and dedicated few others, on virtual mode on Monday.

Responding to the requests, the Minister said the Secunderabad MP and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy had requested for repairs to the damaged national highways during recent unseasonal rains and floods in the Hyderabad city. The Ministry's secretary Giridhar Aramane had taken immediate action and funds were released for the same, Gadkari informed.

Member of Parliament B Venkatesh Netha requested the Centre for widening of 2/4-lane with paved shoulder from Rasoolpally to Arjunagutta of NH-63 on Nizamabad Jagadalpur road on EPC mode under NH (O) in Telangana. For this, he was informed that the work has been awarded ensuring road safety of the concerned project.

Similarly, another MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy sought sanction of the proposal for widening of existing carriageway width to 6/8 lanes from LB Nagar to Malkapur (from 15 km to 40km )on the outer of Hyderabad city on NH-65.

Komatireddy was told that the project with a provision of about Rs 600 crore, with the project's DPR was under finalisation stage and it was included in Annual Plan 2020-21. Sanction of the same would be done by January 2021, he said.

That apart, several other MPs have requested for sanction to give approval for widening of the existing carriageway on national highway from Hyderabad to Vijayawada section of NH-65 connecting Telangana State capital with Vijayawada financial capital of Andhra Pradesh. The Union Minister said that a DPR for the same was under progress.

BB Patil, another MP, requested for carrying out repairs to general service road leading to Sadashivanagar and Ramareddy mandal on NH-44 Hyderabad-Nagpur highway. Taking the request into consideration, the MP was told that NHAI has already taken up the matter with the concessionaire to start the restoration work and shall complete the work in due course of time.
