Telangana transport slaps Rs 452 crore tax dues notice to RTC
With not many employees joined the duties after the deadline, the Telangana government has decided to go on the further offensive against the TSRTC as the union leaders threatened the government to intensify the strike further.

However, giving a jolt to TSRTC, the Telangana Transport Authority (TTA) slapped Rs 452 crore tax dues notice to RTC on Wednesday.
Mamata Prasad, secretary of TTA has asked the RTC to pay Rs 452 crore pending dues of motor vehicle tax for the year 2017-18 and 2018-19. In addition to this, the Telangana High Court also asked RTC to pay Rs 200 crore to RTC workers credit cooperative society as the organization has utilized the amount for maintenance of buses and payment of salaries.
Meanwhile, the state government held a meeting on Wednesday on the strike and also on the affidavits to be filed in the High Court. However, the government's decision to operate 5100 private buses is likely to get delayed.
