Kamareddy: A temporary bridge near Pedda Devada village in Bichkunda mandal in Jukkal constituency caved in due to flood waters on Wednesday night after the heavy rainfall. Traffic was severely disrupted on the route, which is crucial to go to Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Accidents were avoided as the police barred vehicular traffic on the temporary bridge during nights. Traffic between Bichkunda and Banswada mandals was stopped.

Proposals for the bridge construction were made in 2016 at a cost of Rs 5.33 crore. The then Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao laid foundation stone and a temporary bridge was built.
