Toll charges hiked on Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway

Toll plazas on Hyderabad-Vijayawada hiked the charges by Rs 5 to Rs 860 depending on the vehicles. It has come into effect on Sunday.

Lakhs of vehicles passes through the National Highway 65 which is one of the busiest highways in both the Telugu states and the government too makes the most of it. However, the highway which is maintained by the GMR Infrastructure hiked the charges irking the vehiclists.

The GMR infrastructure which widened the highway to the four-line road was permitted to collect the toll charges by NHIA following which it installed the toll plazas at Pathangi in Yadradri-Bhongir district, Kethepalli near Nalgonda.

The toll charges can be hiked for every one year, according to the regulations.
