The Hyderabad Police on Wednesday issued traffic restrictions and diversions in order to relieve congestion, maintain smooth flow of traffic and to ensure public safety and order in connection with the Ganesh Immersion procession on Thursday.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police on Wednesday issued traffic restrictions and diversions in order to relieve congestion, maintain smooth flow of traffic and to ensure public safety and order in connection with the Ganesh Immersion procession on Thursday.

The main procession starts from Keshavagiri and passes through Aliabad - Nagulchinta – Charminar – Madina – Afzalgunj – MJ Market – Abids – Basheer Bagh – Liberty – Ambedkar Statue towards upper Tank bund or NTR Marg.

The procession from Secunderabad area would pass through RP Road - MG Road - Karbala Maidan – Kavadiguda - Musheerabad X Road - RTC X Road - Narayanguda X Road - Himayathnagar 'Y' Junction and join the main procession at Liberty. The idols coming from Chilkalguda X road would join the procession at Musheerabad 'X' Roads via Gandhi Hospital.

The procession from East zone would pass from Uppal – Ramanthapur - 6 No Junction Amberpet – Shivam Road - NCC at OU - Durga Bai Deshmukh Hospital – Hindi Maha Vidyalaya X Roads – Fever Hospital – Barkatpura X roads – Narayanguda X Road and join the procession coming from RTC X Roads.

Idols from Dilsukhnagar would join the procession coming from IS Sadan – Saidabad –Chanchalguda at Nalgonda X roads and some proceeds towards Amberpet via Moosarambagh.

Idols coming from Tarnaka side would proceed through Osmania University Distance Education Road, Adikmet and join the procession at Fever Hospital via Vidyanagar.

Traffic going towards Lalapet from Tarnaka will not be allowed on Flyover and they may take alternative routes. The processions from Tolichowki, Rethibowli and Mehdipatnam side would pass through Masab Tank, Ayodhya Junction – Nirankari Bhavan – Old PS Saifabad – Iqbal Minar to NTR Marg.

The idols coming from Erragadda would pass through SR Nagar – Ameerpet – Panjagutta – VV Statue and join the procession coming from Mehdipatnam at Nirankari Bhavan and proceed to NTR Marg.

Idols coming from Tappachabutra and Asif Nagar side would pass through – Sitarambagh – Bhoiguda Kaman – Voulga Hotel – Goshamahal Baradari - Alaska and join the main procession at MJ Market and proceed towards Abids – Basheer Bagh – Liberty – Ambedkar Statue - Upper Tank bund or NTR Marg.

City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said no traffic other than the idols' procession will be allowed to move on the above main procession route between 9 am on Thursday to 8 am on Friday. The traffic restrictions will be extended if the situation so demands.

Traffic diversion points

Movements of vehicles other than those carrying Ganesh idols would be restricted and diverted at many points along the main procession route and at other points adjoining the routes of other tributary processions. Facility to cross from the West to East or vice versa is given only at Basheer Bagh Junction.

Commuters are advised to use the Ring Road and Begumpet area to avoid diversions. All the side roads leading to the main procession route will be barricaded.

The main traffic diversion points in Hyderabad South are at Keshavagiri, Mahbubnagar X Roads, Engine Bowli, Nagul Chintha, Himmathpura, Hari Bowli, Asra Hopsital, Mogulpura, Lakkad Kote, Madina X Road, MJ Bridge, Dar Ul Shifa X Roads, City College.

In Hyderabad East are at Chanchalguda Jail X Roads, Moosarambagh, Chaderghat Bridge, Shivaji Bridge, Afzalgunj, Puthilibowli X Roads, Troop Bazar, Jambagh X Roads, Andhra Bank Koti.

In Hyderabad West are at Tope Khana Mosque, Alaska Hotel Junction, Osmangunj Sanker Bagh and Seena Hotel, Ajantha Gate near Exhibition Grounds, Abkari Lane, Taj Island, Barthan Bazar, AR Petrol Pump at KLK Building.

In Hyderabad Central are at Chapel Road Entry, Gadwal Centre at GPO, Shalimar Theatre, Gun foundry, Skyline road entry, Bharath Scouts and Guides Junction in Domalguda, Kalanjali at Control Room, Liberty Junction, MCH Office Y junction, BRK Bhavan junction near Telugu Thalli Junction, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Dwaraka Hotel Junction, Khairatabad Junction (Visweswaraiah Statue), Children's Park, Marriott Hotel junction, Kavadiguda Junction, Musheerabad X road, RTC X road, Katta Maisamma Temple at Lower Tank Bund, Indira Park Junction.

In Hyderabad North (Secunderabad) traffic will not be allowed to enter the Necklace Road and Upper Tank Bund from Karbala Maidan, Buddha Bhavan, Sailing Club and Nallagutta Junction.

The traffic will be diverted at CTO, YMCA, Paradise X Roads, Patny X Roads, Bata X Roads, Adavaiah X Roads, Ghans Mandi X Roads from 6 am on Thursday to Friday till completion of immersion.

Parking places around the immersion points for onlookers

The public coming to witness the Ganesh immersion at Hussain Sagar Lake would have to park their vehicles in the notified places, which are Institute of Engineers at Khairatabad Junction, MMTS Station Khairatabad, Anand Nagar Colony to RR District ZP Office, Back side of Buddha Bhavan, Goseva, Lower Tank Bund, Katta Maisamma, NTR Stadium, Nizam College and Public Gardens.

Therefore, people are requested to park their vehicles in the places mentioned above and proceed by foot to the places of immersion.

Lorries movement: Exit route for empty trucks and lorries after

immersion

After immersion at the NTR Marg, the empty trucks and lorries should proceed to their destination via Necklace Rotary - Khairtabad flyover – VV Statue - KCP and onwards.

They will not be allowed to return towards Telugu Talli statue or Mint Compound road. After immersion on the Upper Tank Bund, the empty trucks and lorries should proceed towards Children's Park – DBR Mills - Kavadiguda – Musheerabad or towards Indira Park – Ashok Nagar – Vidya Nagar and no lorry shall go towards the Bible House Rail over Bridge, Commissioner said.

♦ Restrictions on Inter State and District Lorries

Commissioner said Inter-State and Inter-District lorries would not be allowed to enter the Hyderabad city on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

Their movement will be terminated on the outskirts of the city during the final day of Ganesh immersion process.

The route for Inter State and District Buses to reach the MGBS at Imlibun are buses coming from Rajeev Rahadari and NH-7 should go via JBS –YMCA -Sangeet X road- Tarnaka - Jamia Osmania flyover - Nimboliadda – Chaderghat.

Buses coming from Bangalore should go via Aramgarh x road – Chandrayangutta X Road – I S Sadan - Nalgonda X Road – Chaderghat. Buses coming from Mumbai/NH 9 should go via Godrej 'Y' Junction - Narsapur X Roads –Bowenpally – JBS – YMCA – Sangeeth - Tarnaka, Jamia Osmania fly over –Adikmet – Nimboliadda.

♦ RTC city service buses

The regulations of RTC buses are as same as mentioned above for the movements of other vehicles, traffic diversion points will apply to the RTC City Region buses too.

When the procession reaches its peak, RTC buses would not be allowed beyond the junctions of Masab Tank (Mehdipatnam buses), V V Statue (Kukatpally buses), CTO, Plaza, SBH, Clock Tower, Chilkalguda x road (Secunderabad), Ramanthapur TV Station ( Uppal buses), Gaddiannaram, Chaderghat (Dilsukhnagar buses), Danamma Huts (Rajendra Nagar), I S Sadan (Ibrahimpatnam & Midhani buses), YMCA Narayanguda (Inter City Special Buses). At Tarnaka no RTC bus would be allowed beyond Tarnaka Junction towards Jamia Osmania Flyover.

"The TSRTC authorities will provide alternative routes convenient to them keeping in view the restriction imposed on the movement of vehicular traffic on the roads notified above," Commissioner added.

Private buses should operate from their locations outside the city and they should not enter the city from 8 am on Thursday to 10 am on Friday.

All people coming from Airport or going to airport should avoid using Necklace Road, NTR Marg, Tank Bund Road and main procession route as shown in Map.

Similarly, people going or coming from Railway station and Bus stand should also avoid these roads.

The traffic restrictions, main routes etc will be shown live on Google Map and it will be updated on real time basis also.
