TSRTC JAC to chart plan of action today
Buoyed with the success of the state bandh, the TSRTC JAC has decided to intensify the agitation further from Monday.
Hyderabad: Buoyed with the success of the state bandh, the TSRTC JAC has decided to intensify the agitation further from Monday.
At the JAC meeting conducted here on Saturday evening, the committee leaders decided to meet leaders of all political parties on Sunday to review the situation and finalise the next plan of action.
The action plan will include holding public meeting on October 23 on the Osmania University campus. Thanking all sections of the people and political parties, including the TNGOs and TGOs, for making the bandh a success, RTC JAC convenor E Ashwathama Reddy said the protests at all depots by the RTC employees will continue.
He said while the JAC was ready to go for talks if invited by the government or Corporation, they will not to succumb to any pressure tactics.
The JAC leaders alleged that false cases were booked against them. The police did not behave like this even during the Telangana agitation, he said.
Ashwatthama Reddy said the success of this bandh, which is first of its kind after six years of formation of Telangana, should be an eyeopener for the government.
He said they hope the government would give up its adamant attitude and take corrective measures. The Chief Minister should act like a father figure and solve the issue amicably, he said.
On Sunday, the JAC leader said the workers would take up protests holding placards showing 'Save RTC - Save Public Transport', 'Reimburse dues of RTC', etc, at all depots in the state.
The workers would give flowers to the citizens thanking them for their support in the bandh and will request them to stand by them till their issues were resolved.
He said it was unfortunate that the "government was adopting delaying tactics saying calling the employees JAC for talks claiming that it had not received court orders. Government is going on making mistakes, he said.
Replying to a question, Ashwathama Reddy said that they would meet AIMIM leaders and seek their support as well. "If need be, we will meet Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan again," he said.
