The police recover two pistols, six live rounds (7.65), one empty magazine and two mobile phones from the possession of the accused
Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team, LB Nagar, Rachakonda along with the Meerpet police nabbed two persons on charges of illegal possession of firearms trade at Almasguda Kaman under Meerpet police station limits.
The police recovered two pistols, six live rounds (7.65), one empty magazine and two mobile phones from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Arun Yadav (30), Shankar Yadav (48) and one Mithilesh Kumar (35) who is absconding.
According to G Sudheer Babu, Additional Commissioner of police, Rachakonda Arun Yadav native of Bihar State with a criminal background came to Hyderabad in the month of January 2019 and started working as a watchman at a private hotel in Secunderabad.
Shanker Yadav also a native of Bihar State came to Hyderabad in the year 2010 and was working as a watchman at a bar in Almasguda.
Both Arun Yadav and Shanker Yadav due to meagre earnings hatched a plan to sell firearms in Hyderabad for Rs 1 lakh which is easily available in their village at lower cost.
As per their plan Arun Yadav contacted his villager Mithilesh Kumar who is an illegal firearms supplier and enquired about availability of firearms.
Arun along with his friend Shanker went to Arun's village in Bihar and procured two pistols for Rs 40,000 along with six live rounds and one empty magazine and came to Hyderabad by hiding weapons in their luggage.
On a tip-off, on Saturday SOT, LB Nagar team along with Meerpet police nabbed Arun Yadav and Shankar Yadav and found two pistols with six live rounds one empty magazine from their possession at Shankar's room at BM Bar Almasguda.
Police booked a case under sections 25, 1B(a) of Arms Act1959 and is also investigating on how many persons are involved in the racket and the number of weapons they have sold till date.
