Two Maoists of CPI-ML Janashakti group held in Sircilla

Sircilla: Two Maoists of CPI-ML Janashakti group were apprehended by Sircilla police on Monday, while they were trying to conduct a reviewing meeting to strengthen Janashakti group cadre at Bypass road in Sircilla.

The two Maoists were identified as Manuka Kuntaiah (45), son of late Pochaiah and resident of Thippapur village, Vemulawada mandal, and Nagunoori Ravi (30), son of late Yellaiah and resident of Ramannapet village, Thangallapalli mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district.

According to information, following the orders of Vishwanath, State secretary of CPI-ML Janashakti group, the two Maoists were conducting a review meeting to strengthen the party and to extort money from businesspeople and landlords present in the district.

Coming to know about the Maoist meeting, police led by Inspector M Srinivas rushed to the spot and arrested the two along with seizing one country-made tapancha with 6 live 8 mm rounds from Kuntaiah and 6 live 8 mm rounds from N Ravi.

M Kuntaiah was involved in the murder case of Suddala Prabhakar Rao and the case at present is under trial. Nagunoori Ravi, who was working as a car driver, got attracted by CPI-ML Janashakthi group ideology and has been working as a courier.

On April 25, Vishwanath gave a letter to them and asked them to ensure that the letter will be published in newspapers. In that letter, they threatened one Vengala Srinivas and a school teacher alleging that they were sexually assaulting beedi company women and girl students.

Kuntaiah and Ravi also warned one Puli Devaiah and a few landlords alleging that they had encroached lands and will kill them if they continue to do such activities further like that of Suddala Prabhakar Rao.

The letter was published in some Telugu newspapers. From then onwards, police kept strict surveillance and on receiving orders from SP Rahul Hegde, they arrested Kuntaiah and Ravi.

SP Rahul Hegde appreciated Inspector M Srinivas and constables Jagadish, Pulkam Srinu for arresting the two Maoists.
