Warangal: The government has been providing utmost care to children aged below six years by giving them shelter in Sishu Gruhas of the Women Development and Child Welfare Department, Warangal Urban district in-charge Collector M Haritha said.

Inaugurating baby cradle swings at the Sishu Gruha here on Tuesday, she said that special emphasis is being given for the children, who were

deprived of parents' care, in the rehabilitation centres.

The government is concerned about the healthcare of these children, she added and commended the child protection units and line departments that are looking after the welfare of the children in distress.

Warangal Child Welfare Committee chairman Mandala Parashuramulu emphasised the need for preventing infanticides. The onus is on everyone to prevent the malady besides informing the authorities if they come across any such cases. Referring to the Sishu Gruhas, he sought the officials to provide quality food besides providing healthcare facilities to the inmates.

ICDS Regional Organiser Kamarunnisa Begum said that government was committed for the welfare and development of the children. CDPO Madhurima, ACDPO Anitha, DCPOs P Santhosh Kumar and G Mahender Reddy, protection officers Praveen Kumar and D Raju were among others present.
