Warangal Rural: Nekkonda sets up pet bottle shredding machine
In a bid to reduce the use of plastics, the Gram Panchayat of Nekkonda Mandal headquarters has set up a pet bottle shredder on its premises.
Nekkonda (Warangal Rural): In a bid to reduce the use of plastics, the Gram Panchayat of Nekkonda mandal headquarters has set up a pet bottle shredder on its premises.
The pet bottle crusher machine is said to be a cost-effective method for disposal of waste plastic bottles.
The used pet water bottles will be shredded using this machine before disposing of them in an eco-friendly method.
Inaugurating the machine on Monday, Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy and Warangal Rural District Collector M Haritha told the people to 'Go Green' by saying 'no' to plastics to protect the environment from pollution. Explaining the ill-effects, they appealed to people to avoid the use of single-use plastic.
They also emphasised the need for inculcating awareness among the children about the importance of using cloth or jute bags to avoid plastic carry bags. He said that children must be aware of the environmental effects of their activities so that they can drive the society towards pollution free environment.
