Jukkal (Kamareddy): Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) Yogender Reddy said women should be productive forces and should not make profits through unproductive investments.
Speaking at Gram Samaikya Sangam meeting at Indira Kranti Patham office in Jukkal mandal headquarters on Tuesday, the MPDO suggested the women to borrow from IKP and DRDA to set up small scale industries and other businesses.
Informing that the sangam has been offering interest-free loans for a year to its members to excel in business sector, Reddy called upon the women to provide employment to another ten women.
Issues like sangam transactions, lending to eligible associations through bank linkages, cooperation to improve their financial situation were discussed at the meeting. Online availability of all types of loans, monthly savings of community associations and appointment of bookkeepers at village-level to monitor monthly meetings also discussed.
Sarpanches Sangam mandal president B Ramu, MPO Yadagiri, leaders Dhadarao Patil, Nilu Patil, sarpanches, MPTCs and others participated in the meeting.
