14 held for eating chicken, consuming liquor in Tirumala
Consuming liquor and eating non-veg at holy Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is prohibited, but still, some devotees neglect this and break the rules.
Tirumala: Consuming liquor and eating non-veg at holy Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is prohibited, but still some devotees neglect this and break the rules. Earlier, the police warned that strict actions would be taken if anyone involves in such activities.
Recently, the One Town police have arrested 14 people who were consumed alcohol and chicken at Tirumala. The police came to know that a few people are eating chicken biryani and drinking liquor near the Bata Gangamma temple. Immediately, they reached the spot, and on seeing the police, the people tried to escape.
The police chased and caught hold of them. Later, they were taken to TTD's Ashwini hospital for medical examinations. On the incident, the police booked a case against 14 members under prohibition and excise act, Tirumala notified area act and investigating further.
