Chittoor: Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy has stated that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is committed to implement total prohibition in a phased manner within three years in the state. He said that house sites will be distributed to 1.42 beneficiaries in the district.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, he enlisted the achievements of the Government during the last one year. "With a view to implement prohibition, licences of 33 percent of the wine shops have been cancelled, 4,300 belt shops have been removed and 4,350 room permits were cancelled. Excise revenue has come down by Rs.1,400 crore due to reduction in the wine shops, " he further said.

The Deputy Chief Minister stated that Chief Minister is also committed for uplifting the backward classes. The BC leaders Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, and Pill Subhashchandrabose were given Rajya Sabha seats.

For the development all regions, the state government will continue to implement three capital system, he added. Narayana Swamy further said that Chief Minister will launch distribution of house sites to 27.0 lakh beneficiaries in the state on July 8.

He flayed former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting development of Chittoor district.
