Vijayawada: On the occasion of 'National Unity Day' the NSS unit of Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College organised a 2K Run on Thursday.
The College Principal Dr AV Ratna Prasad explained the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was instrumental in India's struggle for Independence in convincing several princely states to align with Indian Union.
The staff and students took pledge for 'Rashtriya Ekta' to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. The students of NSS unit under the guidance of Dr Kolla Narendra, Programme Officer organised quiz and essay-writing competitions for one week. Students actively participated in the competition.
