AITUC demands pension for civil supplies workers
All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) state general secretary S Venkata Subbaiah demanded the government to extend pension scheme to loading and unloading workers of Civil Supplies department.
Vijayawada: All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) state general secretary S Venkata Subbaiah demanded the government to extend pension scheme to loading and unloading workers of Civil Supplies department.
Speaking at the Civil Supplies department workers meeting at AITUC office here on Thursday, he said that though the provident fund amount is being collected from workers salary account, no employee has been paid the pension so far.
The workers across the state are facing the problem, he said and requested the officials to interfere in the issue. He said that the lakh of workers were facing injustice during the last 10 years.He also requested the officials to provide drinking water facility at all the civil supplies godowns in the current summer. Union state vice-president K Ramana and staff Rambabu, Veeraju, Sambasiva Rao, Nani, Narasimha Rao and Venkateswara Rao were also present.
