In a shocking incident, a medical student who has dreamt of reaching peaks in her career has committed suicide on Wednesday. Going into details, Arshiya (26) from Madakasira of Hindupur joined the Medical college and pursuing her MBBS. At this juncture, she got married to Nurullah, a software employee from Hindupur RTC Colony at a time when she was about to complete the course in another two years. Believing it to be a good match, Arshiya's parents married her daughter to Nurullah in November 2019 by giving Rs 5 lakh and half a kilo of gold jewelery to the bride at that time.
However, Arshiya, who entered mother in law's house hoping for a beautiful future has to see her hopes getting squashed with the harassment of husband and in law's family. Meanwhile, she has become pregnant in less than a month ago, which led the husband to doubt on her character who used to quarrel with his wife demanding extra dowry.
On Tuesday, Arshiya's parents had phoned and wished her a happy birthday but she didn't speak properly on the phone. On Wednesday morning, relatives in Ninkampally, Hindupur, phoned to said that Arshiya was unconscious and her parents and brothers reached Hindupur immediately and were shocked to see Arshiya lying lifeless on the bed. Parents who asked Nurullah about the incident to which he replied recklessly , which led to confrontation between the two family members.
Upon receiving the information, the One Town police immediately rushed to the scene and shifted the body to a hospital, and locked the house. DSP Vamsidhar Gowda, Tehsildar Srinivas and CI Bala Maddileti who came to know about the matter, inspected the house and conducted an inquiry. While the deceased family urged the police for justice to ther family and levelled allegations against Nurullah family.
