Amaravati: AP government has taken the shocking decision over CEC (Central Election Commission) order of transferring the three top police officials in the state.

The state government has taken the decision of cancelling the transfer of IB chief Venkateswara Rao.

On Wednesday, the government has issued a GO bringing all the police officers connected with elections duties into the limits of CEC.

But in the GO the government has given exception to DG Intelligence. With this, the AP government has not relieved Venkateswara Rao.

The government has given the green signal for the transfer of SPs of Srikakulam and Kadapa districts. On DG Intelligence, the government has approached the High Court and then taken the decision of cancelling the transfer orders.

Earlier today the Central Election Commission has taken the decision of transferring the three IPS officers in AP.

In the orders, the AP Intelligence chief AB Venkateswara Rao was removed from the elections duties. Along with him, two SPs of Srikakulam and Kadapa districts Venkata Ratnam and Rahul Dev Sharma were also transferred with immediate effect on Wednesday.

The EC directed the three officers should hand over their respective charges to a senior-most official in their offices, and they must be attached to the district headquarters.
