The state government has invited international tenders for the preparation of DPR for Greenfield Airport at Dagadarthi Nellore district. The Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (INCAP) has issued a notification inviting bids from national and international companies to prepare DPRs for the operation of passenger and cargo aircraft. Nellore district is about to develop industrially, which has the potential to transport cargo.

Cargo handling at Chennai Airport has reached its maximum. In addition to Krishnapatnam port, Ramayapatnam port in Prakasam district, steel plant in Kadapa district and huge industrial parks are being set up near Krishnapatnam. That is why they are planning to develop Dagadarti Airport as a cargo hub. Tenders have been called for the preparation of a comprehensive DPR examining the business opportunities available for freight.

Officials have asked interested companies to file bids by December 2. APADCL plans to build an airport on an area of ​​about 1,350 acres at a cost of Rs 300 crore. It has been decided that once the DPR is prepared, it will be sent to the cabinet for approval and work will begin.
