The APNGO state president Chandrasekhar Reddy said that they would boycott the local body elections if the state election commission acts stubbornly and go ahead with elections. He said that the lives of employees are more important than elections. He held a media conference in Guntur on Sunday that the employees were upset with the release of the Election Commission schedule. On this occasion, he reminded that they are asking Election Commission to postpone the local body elections for two months.

Chandrasekhar Reddy clarified that it is not possible for employees to participate in elections in the wake of coronavirus second wave. He demanded that the election schedule be withdrawn soon. He said they would approach the courts if necessary for the postponement of the elections and stated that they were not affiliated with any political party.

The government is struggling financially because of the coronavirus. Chandrasekhar Reddy expressed confidence that they would definitely secure the subsidies from the government in the future.
