Amaravati: The BJP demanded the State government to postpone the SSC examinations, in wake of the COVID19 pandemic. The party AP president Kanna Lakshminarayana wrote a letter to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urging him not to put the lives of the students in health risk by forcing them to write the exams when the spread of the virus in the State is rampant.

Kanna stated that "The number of coronavirus positive cases in the State are increasing rapidly. The pandemic also entered into the community spread stage. In light of this, gatherings of people are not desirable and might further aggravate the situation.

In this regard, the BJP demands to cancel tenth class examinations as has been done by several other states like Telangana. Travel and crowding of students in the examination centres is highly precarious. Hence, the BJP demanding to promote the students to the next class without examinations."
