Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting with the Department of Civil supplies on Friday at the CM's camp office on the implementation of packaged rice distribution in all districts. This review was attended by senior minister of state for civil affairs Kodali Nani. Against this backdrop, the authorities have provided many details about the quality of rice and reserves available in the districts. The officials have told the chief ministers that as many as 54 lakh tonnes of rice available through Kharif and rabi crops.

In the meantime, the chief minister examined rice samples obtained from Srikakulam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Guntur and Kadapa districts and ordered officials to distribute quality rice to each constituency from April 1. He said that the government would set up 99 rice packing units at 30 places and ordered officials to reclaim the bags from the people after distributing rice.

The officials said that they would set up a quality rice distribution units in 22 constituencies by April 1, 46 constituencies by May, 70 constituencies by June, 106 by July and 175 constituencies by August respectively.
