Kadapa: Police unearthed 54 country-made bombs in an open place near Mudhanuru Road of Jammalamadugu town on Monday. The police defused the bombs immediately by putting them in the bucket of water. According to the Jammalamadugu DSP K Krishnan, when a JCB was levelling the land owned by realtor B Purushothama Reddy, a steel bucket was got touched to the JCB handle. Suspecting something wrong, the driver brought the issue to the notice of the owner and the owner immediately alerted the police. They recovered 10 country-made bombs in the steel bucket at that particular place.

Later, following the orders of DSP JCB, the driver dig the land at different places on the same land and unearthed two plastic buckets each containing 20 bombs and another steel bucket containing four. It is interesting to note that the bombs were recovered just 100 meters distance of the helipad constructed of which chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy landed for addressing the public meeting in the Rythu Dinoswavam on July 8. The police registered the case and are investigating.
