Eluru: AIDS-free society possible, says MLC Surya Rao
MLC Ramu Surya Rao has said that AIDS-free society is possible with good habits and good personality.
Eluru: MLC Ramu Surya Rao has said that AIDS-free society is possible with good habits and good personality. He flagged off a rally to mark World AIDS Day here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said it is important to adopt healthy habits and correct attitude to lead a life without AIDS. Everyone in society should take part in fighting AIDS. There was no need to worry if anyone tested positive for AIDS, he said adding that healthy food habits and intake of medicines would help one conquer AIDS.
He informed that as many as 2,948 HIV patients in the district are being given pension of Rs 2250 every month. At 142 HIV test centres medicines would be given free of cost to the patients. He called upon patients to avail the benefits extended by the government.
Stating that a total 41,587 persons have been suffering from HIV in the district, the MLC said that the government was doing every possible thing to help them.
