Exhibition on Gandhi draws crowds in Vijayawada
District Collector A Md Imtiyaz visited the photo exhibition of Mahatma Gandhi, organised jointly by Photo India, Gandhi Kshetram (Avanigadda) and the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada & Amaravati (CCVA), here on Saturday.
Vijayawada: District Collector A Md Imtiyaz visited the photo exhibition of Mahatma Gandhi, organised jointly by Photo India, Gandhi Kshetram (Avanigadda) and the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada & Amaravati (CCVA), here on Saturday.
Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO of the CCVA, briefed the collector on location and variation in shape and style of Gandhi statues, established in different parts of the world. The Collector said the utmost simple life that Gandhi led like a common man won worldwide recognition and to commemorate such a great personality, many countries have erected statues of Mahatma Gandhi as source of inspiration to the next generations of their countries.
The Collector lauded CCVA for organising the exhibition on the eve of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi celebrations. Joint Collector-II Mohan Kumar, Director of Malaxmi Group M Chimpiraiah and Satish, CC to the Collector were present.
