District collector I Samuel Anand Kumar assured that the government will purchase discoloured paddy at MSP and urged that the farmers need not worry about crop damage
Guntur: District collector I Samuel Anand Kumar assured that the government will purchase discoloured paddy at MSP and urged that the farmers need not worry about crop damage.
He visited agriculture fields affected due to crop damage in Kolluru, Vemuru mandals and interacted the with the farmers in Tenali revenue division of Guntur district on Friday.
Speaking on this occasion, he assured that the district administration will purchase discoloured paddy as per the guidelines released by the government.
He urged the farmers not to sell the paddy at lower price to the middlemen and added that that the government will purchase the paddy at MSP. Replying to a question, the Collector said that he had conducted a meeting with the officials and issued orders to renovate the drainage system. He said he will take steps to solve the drainage problem.
He visited paddy purchasing centres set up at Vemuru, Kollipara and took all the necessary steps to purchase paddy from the farmers. He urged the farmers to sell their paddy in the paddy purchasing centres to get MSP.
Later, he visited layout at Chiluvuru and directed the Revenue officials to level the plots to be distributed to the beneficiaries by December 25. Tenali sub-collector Mayur Ashok, Vemuru Tahsildar Sirisha, MPDO Chandrasekhar were among those participated.
