Chittoor: As many as 1,88,639 candidates would appear for written exam to be held for village secretariat jobs from September 1 to 8, according to District Collector N Bharath Gupta. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the Collector said foolproof arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of exams.

All the MPDOs, municipal commissioners, Tahsildars, MEOs and other staff have been drafted to supervise the exams, he stated. Gupta mentioned exams are being conducted for 9,777 village secretariat posts in the district.

Instructions were given to APSRTC to run special services from 41 mandal headquarters in the district during the exams, the Collector said. He directed officials concerned to ensure availability of drinking water, furniture for hassle free writing exams and continuous power supply to exam centres.

Candidates are advised to download their hall tickets on or before Sunday (August 25). Joint Collector D Markandeyulu, Joint Collector-2 Chandramouli and other officials were present.
