Kadapa: Deputy Chief Minister Amzath Basha has said that the government is introducing several welfare schemes to promote living standards of women.

Speaking after distributing Rs 204.33 crore funds towards 1,08,974 beneficiaries under the YSR Cheyutha scheme here on Wednesday, he said the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was committed to fulfill the dreams of his father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, who strived hard for empowering women financially. Basha said as many as 25 lakh women were covered under the scheme in the state. He urged the beneficiaries to utilise the amount properly by establishing small business.

District Collector Ch Harikiran said that as many as 1,08,974 SC,ST, BC, Minority women between 40-60 years age group got benefitted under the YSR Cheyutha scheme in the district. The Collector said the eligible beneficiary, who failed to secure the amount under YSR Cheyutha scheme, can represent the administration within one month to get the amount. Municipal Commissioner Lavanna and DRDA PD Muralimanohar were present.
