Kakinada: District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy paid rich tributes to Amara Jeevi Potti Sriramulu on his 120th birth anniversary and garlanded his statue at the CBM Junction in Kakinada on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said that the sacrifice of Potti Sriramulu in the formation of the first linguistic State in the country led to the creation of the Andhra State in 1953.
He praised the late leader's sacrifice as "invaluable " and "unforgettable" for achieving Andhra State following Gandhian method of fast unto death to realize his goals
Joint Collector G Lakshmisha, DRO Satthibabu, Zilla Parishad CEO M Jyothi and others were present on the occasion.
