Kurnool: Secretary to Election Commission of India (ECI), Sujeet Kumar Mishra in a statement released on Thursday, has stated that the Commission has decided to present Best Electoral Practices Awards for the year 2019.

The Secretary has released a list of nominees who have been shortlisted for consideration of the Selection Committee for the National Awards. The names of 50 officers from various departments across the country have been shortlisted for the National Awards.

Among them, four officers from Andhra Pradesh were shortlisted. A Mohammed Imtiaz, Collector, Krishna district and Kartikeya Mishra, East Godavari (Electoral Roll Management) for general category and Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli (Superintendent of Police), Kurnool for IT initiatives and Dr A Ravi Shankar, IPS, State Police Election Nodal Officer (Election Management) for Special Category were shortlisted.

The shortlisted nominees have to give a presentation for 10 minutes to the selection committee through video conference on 17th and 18th of December from 3 pm. The Secretary has also mentioned that separate time slots for the presentations will be intimated later. Meanwhile the Chief Election Officers are requested to book the slot of Video Conference on the mentioned dates.
