Nellore will be transformed into green zone: Minister Anil Kumar
Irrigation Minister Dr P Anil Kumar said that Nellore will be converted into a green city and the government had already taken measures to improve greenery.

The Minister laid foundation for the construction of BT roads in the divisions near Potti Sriramulu statue at Moolapet here on Sunday. He said the BT roads are going to be laid with an expenditure of Rs 2.47 crore which was funded by the 14th Finance Commission.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that they had already planted thousands of saplings in all divisions and they are going to start a drive to protect the saplings they had planted.
The Minister exuded confidence that within a year from now the city will be transformed into a green zone with collective efforts of the government departments and the public. He also said that they had already invited tenders to take up development works to the tune of Rs. 60 crore in the city.
"The government had laid focus on developing the city and several huge projects have been lined up. The fish market will be modernised with Rs. 2.90 crore and Rs. 5 crore were sanctioned for the sanitation works.
