Ongole: Skill instils self-confidence among women, says SI P Jyothi Rani

Ongole: Skill in tailoring infuses self-confidence among women, said Disha Police Station Sub-Inspector of Police P Jyothi Rani.

She was the chief guest at a tailor training programme for women organised to mark World Tailors Day here on Friday. The programme was organised by Adya Technologies.

Addressing the gathering, the Sub-Inspector called upon the women to develop economically by making the best use of tailoring skill. Development of family and society is closely linked with sustainability of women in any profession that guarantees income. When women are skilled in any activity, the economic problems would dispel automatically, she reasoned.She patted the organiser Bommthoti Ramanamma for encouraging women in need to learn the tailoring skills to come up in life financially.

Explaining various initiatives taken by the State government for the safety of women, she said the establishment of Disha police stations was a milestone in safeguarding women and girls, and providing protection to them.

MEPMA official K Krupa Rao said economic development of women would help in children pursuing higher studies. In order to keep the family financially sound, every woman should have at least one skill, he added.

Ramanamma said that her organisation has been imparting training to women for some years.
