Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Krishna Das on Sunday called upon the people to be aware of preventive measures to keep diseases at bay.

Srikakulam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Krishna Das on Sunday called upon the people to be aware of preventive measures to keep diseases at bay. Participating as chief guest in Aayushman Bharat programme held here on Sunday, he said that the awareness camps on health would be conducted every fortnight among public on healthy habits and tips for protection of health.

On the occasion, the Minister inaugurated a rally on health to highlight the importance of walking in daily life. Later, the district administration conducted an awareness meeting with officials concerned on health schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that both Central and State governments have been implementing several schemes through medical and health department to reach different sections of people like women, children and elderly people. He suggested the people to adopt preventive measures to keep diseases at bay.

From September 16-30 various health awareness camps would be organised at different government hospitals across the district, the Minister explained. During awareness camps free medical tests, different health services, preventive measures for diseases, treatment methods for different diseases, importance of yoga, physical exercise, lifestyle and consumption of nutritious food would be explained to the people, the Minister said.

On September 23 and 24, essay writing and painting competitions would be conducted on Aayushman Bharat, said District Collector J Nivas. District medical and health department officials and health officials from RIMS government hospital participated.
