Srikakulam: Joint Collector K Srinivasulu on Sunday directed the marketing officials to set up separate counters for different category of people in the wake of demand for the onions at Rythu Bazaars.
Inspecting the onion sales counter at Rythu Bazar here, he instructed the marketing officials to arrange separate counters for, male, female, old aged and physically challenged in Rythu Bazaar.
Stating that the price of a kg onion crossed Rs 100 to Rs 150 in open markets at different towns across the state, he said the government was providing onions at Rs 25 a kg to help the distressed people by bearing burden. Assistant director for marketing B Srinivasa Rao, marketing and civil supplies staff were also present.
