Ongole: The proposal to field Sidda Raghavarao as the candidate for the Ongole parliament constituency triggered opposition from the ground level. Hundreds of TDP workers and supporters reached Sidda Raghavarao's house in Ongole on Monday and mounted pressure on the minister to contest as the MLA candidate only. Raghavarao explained that the chief minister asked him to contest as MP but he didn't accepted the offer yet.

The party workers warned that if the party doesn't heed to them, then they will not co-operate with the candidate by the party at Darsi. They even suggested to ask the party to give MP ticket to Sidda Padmavati, wife of Raghavarao, and let him to contest as the MLA of Darsi.

Meanwhile, the TDP Prakasam district president Damacharla Janardhana Rao met Raghavarao in the minister's camp office. He said that there is still a confusion in Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy to contest as MP candidate and the party assured make him win as Ongole MP. If Magunta subsides to contest as the MP candidate, the pressure on Sidda and him will be relieved immediately and they will keep focus on poll management as they have just one month time.
