Vijayawada: The members of United Forum of Bank Unions and the employees of Syndicate Bank took part in a protest against the merger of Syndicate Bank in Canara Bank here on Friday.

The employees of all zonal and regional branches took part in the protest. They said that Syndicate Bank has a good track record and a history since 1925. They said that now the bank has grown big with 4063 branches, 4549 ATM centres with a turnover of Rs 4,77,000 crore. About 35,000 employees were giving service to crores of customers promptly.

They said that Syndicate Bank profit was Rs 359 crore with assets of Rs 2,99,07,374 crore. Employees' union state secretary NSR Murthy, CEC member B Babu, Pushkendra Babu, Roopkishore VB Rajendra Prasad and others participated in the protest.
