Venkaiah Naidu, who is currently the Vice President is likely to be selected as the next President of the country, as part of which he is expected to meet Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and BJP President JP Nadda.

Meanwhile, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, a senior leader of the opposition Telugu Desam Party in the AP and a member of the party's politburo, demanded that Venkaiah Naidu be declared the presidential candidate. Somireddy made a video statement to this effect.

Somireddy said Venkaiah Naidu is a flawless person who is acceptable to all and demanded that the NDA declare his name as the presidential candidate. He said all political parties would co-operate and opined that there will be a unanimous elections if Venkaiah Naidu is the presidential candidate.
